      Obituary published in the Chronicle Telegram (Elyria, Ohio) on 2/24/1959: DENNIS W. DAUGHERTY Wakeman -- Dennis W. Daugherty, 78, died today at 4:30 a.m. in his home, 41 Virlin St. He had been in failing health eight years and seriously ill for two weeks. Mr. Daugherty was born in Ireland Nov. 21, 1880, and came to the United States at the age of eight. He had lived in the vicinity of Wakeman since that time, engaged in farming. He retired 12 years ago. Survivors are his wife, Ellen; three daughters, Mrs. Joseph Mockler and Mrs. Louis Murray, both of Wakeman, and Mrs. John Draves, Jr., New London; six grandchildren; and two sisters Mrs. Mathias Murray, Elyria, and Mrs. Robert Jones, Lorain. Friends will be received at the Gerber Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today. Funeral services will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary Church. the Rev. Karl L. Burger will officiate. Burial will be in Wakeman St. Mary Cemetery. A rosary service will be held in the funeral home tomorrow evening.
