- Obit from Albert Lea Tribune, 9/14/2004 Bette Louis Brown, Vancouver, Wash. Bette Louise Brown, former Albert Lea resident, died Aug. 29, 2004. at her home in Vancouver, Wash. She was born in Vancouver on June 17, 1942. She was a Realtor and a multi-million dollar producer She is survived by her mother, Birdie M. Umathum of Vancouver, Wash.; one son, Jeffery L. Brown of Longview, Wash.; one daughter, Cindi L. Farnstrom of Tualatin, Ore.; one brother, Frank Umathum of Yuma, Ariz.; and her special companion, Kasey, her poodle. Bette was active in the community. She served on the cable commission for several years. She dedicated her life to being a caring mother and friend. She enjoyed gardening, walking along the beach, baking, raising her children, and spending time with family. A service was held on Monday Sept. 6.
