  • Notes
    • According to the records of the St. Louis Church, Charles Emile Vouron was baptized 4/11/1862. His parents were Charles and Alvira Rebillot Vouron. He's found in the 1880 census in Nimishellen, Stark County, OH: VOURRON, Charles (45); wife Alzise (40); children Emile (18); Emma (9); Louis (2); Otille (2/12). Charles and Alzire were born in France. All the children were born in Ohio. Charles was a tanner. In the 1900 Census (spelled Ameal Vourron), he is found as a boarder in the home of Caroline Stoefkew (b. Nov. 1865; age 34; born in Germany). She was the head of household, although she was listed as married 17 years. Children were: Henry (b. Oct. 1883); William (Oct. 1885); Laura (Dec. 1887); Ameal (male; Aug. 1889); Mabel (May 1891). This might be the Carry we have listed as his wife? "Ameal" Vourron was shown as age 38 and single. His occupation was given as Fireman, but the second word is hard to read. It looks like it might be Locomotive? (Notice one of Caroline's sons is named "Ameal?") We have a copy of the 1920 census index card which was completed: Vourron, Emeal E. (Vol. 182; E.D. 60; Sheet 9; Line 85) Color: W Age: 57 Birthplace: Ohio County: Stark City: Canton Street: 12th St., S.W. House No. 1511 Other members of family: Vourron, Carry; wife; age 53; birthplace Germany; citizenship N.R. Obituary printed in the Louisville Herald, December 15, 1921, p. 4: The Death List Emil Vourron died at his home at Canton, Friday afternoon, from heart trouble. He was at home alone and when the members of the family returned they found he had passed away. His age was fifty-nine years. Emil Vourron was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Vourron and his younger years were spent in Louisville. Later he located in Canton, where he had since resided. He is survived by his wife, a sister, Mrs. Emma Baum, of Canton, and a brother, Louis Vourron, of Cleveland. Funeral services were held at Canton, Tuesday morning, after which the body was brought to Louisville and interred in St. Louis Catholic cemetery, where rest the remains of his father and mother.
