      Obituary: ANDREW BAUM DIES, AGED 86 Andrew Baum died at the home of his son, Jacob Baum, on East Gorgas street, Thursday night, March 11. His health had been failing during the winter, due to the infirmities of old age, and he passed away peacefully and quietly, as one going to sleep. Mr. Baum was born near Gettysburg, Pa., October 1, 1833, making his age 86 years. When he was eight years of age the family moved to this vicinity, where Mr. Baum remained during the rest of his life. He was a farmer by occupation in his younger years, but for more than thirty years he resided at the homestead on East Gorgas St. Mr. Baum was married to Miss Rebecca Stambaugh, who, with a daughter and two sons, preceded him in death. The remaining sons and daughters are, Mrs. C. Clapper, Mrs. Frank Guittard, Charles and Jacob Baum, of Louisville, and Mrs. Clemmie Lutz, Joseph and Curtis Baum, of Canton. Mr. Baum was one of the oldest citizens of Louisville, but he remained all his faculties and lived a useful life as long as it was possible for him to do so. Funeral services were held at the Center Church of the Brethren, Monday morning. Mr. Baum being a member of that denomination for many years. Rev. A. H. Miller officiated. Interment was made in the church cemetery. [Louisville Herald, p. 1; 3/18/1920]
