    • Obituary published in the Louisville Herald (page 5), on 10-22-1953:
      MRS. JOSEPH LAIR
      Mrs. Amanda Lair, 80, widow of Joseph Lair, died Saturday in the home at Harrisburg where she had resided for 60 years. She was born in Louisville.
      Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Earl Eckert of Harrisburg; three sons, Walter of Alliance and Clyde and Joseph, both of the home; two stepsons Louis Lair of Louisville and Frank Lair of Harrisburg; two sisters, Mrs. Louis Lair of Louisville and Mrs. Katherine Brandon of Alliance, and one brother, Fred Vernier of Louisville.
      Requiem High Mass was sung Tuesday in Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Harrisburg and burial was at Alliance in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
