    • "The Joseph Fawver Family Grandfather and Grandmother In the year of 1852 Joseph Fawver and wife, Mary Ann Guess Fawver, daughter of Alexander Stokes Brodgon and Telitha Stokes. To the Stokes union were four children: Doak, Tillman, Sam, and "Mary Camoline." Joseph and wife left Shenandoan Valley in Virginia in a Covered wagon for East Tennessee, along with them were their eight children, five girls and three boys. The girls were Lizzie, Suzzie, Vinie, Jennie, and Mary. The boys were John, Issac, and George (the late G. M. Fawver). They remained in East Tennessee until the Civil War. At the beginning of the Civil War, Joseph Fawver and two of his sons, John and Issac, joined the Northern Forces. Joseph Fawver died during the war. John and Issac returned home to East Tennessee."
