  It is with a great deal of gratitude that we thank Evelyn Skinner for finally tying our Eslingers into the rest of the Eslinger family. We had Andrew, father of Carole's great-grandfather John, as well as Andrew Jackson, son of Andrew in our family tree -- we just weren't certain that they were one in the same. Thanks Evelyn! He's found in the 1850 census in Eastern Subdivision 12, Sevier County, TN living in the household of George McMahan: McMAHAN, George (53); MAPLES, Mary (30); McMAHAN, George (19); DAVIS, Elizabeth (23); McMAHAN, Archobold (15); ?? Harriett (12); DAVIS, Harriett (1); ESLINGER, Andrew (20) and James (28). George was born in Virginia while the remainder of the household was born in Tennessee. The men in the household were all farmersESLINGER, Andrew (20); farmer; born in Tennessee. Interestingly enough, next door there is a Henry family: HENRY, John (26) and Jane (2?). Their ages are very difficult to make out. This might have been Andrew's future bride, Jane Henry? Andrew and Jane appear in the 1860 census in District 1 (Jones Cove), Sevier County, TN: ASLINGER, Andrew (24); Jane (31); Anna (8); Russell (6); Lyda (4); Manerva (2); Alman (6/12). Andrew was a farm laborer. Everyone in the household was born in Tennessee. They're found in the 1870 census in District 1, Sevier County, TN: ESSLINGER, Andrew (40); Jane (40); Ann (20); Lidda (16); Manervy (14); Almon (10); John (8); Robert (2); Rachel (1/12, having been born in April). Andrew was a farm laborer. Everyone in the household was born in Tennessee. They are found in the 1880 Census in Jones Cove, Sevier County, TN at page 308: ESSALER, Andrew, age 55; Jane, age 47; Anna, age 27; Russel, age 25; Lyda, age 22; Manerva, age 20; Almon, age 19; John, age 18; Robert, age 10; Samuel, age 8; Rachel, age 10; Wilson, age 4; Martha, age 3; George, age 1.
